Heartwarming! Local coffee shop introduces ‘Carpuccino’; percentage of profits to be donated to carp reproduction fund

It’s all love for the carps at Robert Nick’s shop.

This year has definitely been a turnaround for the native Australian carp. After years of unfair treatment, animal rights activists have finally brought its mistreatment to the attention of the mainstream. The story of the humble carp rising up against the prejudice has touched the hearts of many, including owner of local coffee shop ‘Mean Bean Machine’, Robert Nick.

“We’ve always been environmentally conscious,” said Robert. “We stopped using plastic cutlery long before the ban, and we’ve always encouraged customers to bring in their reusable coffee cup. This seemed like the next logical step. With the ‘carpuccino’ we’ll be donating 50c from each coffee sold to the ‘Carp Active Reproduction Program’, which aims to restore the native carp population to a non-endangered level.”

The new ‘carpuccino’ will be available for a month starting today, and will be priced at $5.50, compared to $5.00 for the regular cappuccino.
